Deadly Dancers
Welcome back to a new school year!
Deadly Dancers are excited to share both new and familiar dances at a range of school and community events. Our dance group will be proudly led by Uncle Hombre, alongside Miss Mac and Aunty Patsy.

This year, we look forward to performing at Rockhana, NAIDOC Week celebrations, and other special events throughout the year. We can’t wait to celebrate culture and connection through dance!

We are only running Deadly Dancers in Terms 2 and 3 this year, so if you would like to join Deadly Dancers, please get a permission slip from the Front Office.

Cultural Awareness Team
At Cloncurry State School P-12, our Cultural Awareness Team is committed to cultivating a culturally capable, inclusive, and safe school community. We support staff in embedding authentic Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives across the curriculum, enhancing students’ engagement in reading, writing, and learning through differentiated, culturally responsive practices.

Our team works in partnership with staff, Traditional Owners, Elders, and the wider First Nations community to promote cultural pride, identity, and belonging. Through professional learning, curriculum planning support, and school-wide events such as NAIDOC Week and other significant dates in the First Nations calendar, we foster meaningful learning experiences that honour Country, language, and story.

Together, we guide and grow the cultural capability of our school community - ensuring every student can see themselves reflected in their learning and every teacher feels empowered to deliver inclusive, respectful, and culturally rich education.
