Cloncurry State School P–12 has a very proud co-educational history spanning 13 years of education from Prep to Year 12 and has a long tradition of providing high quality education to students from across the remote north west of Queensland.  We believe strong, positive relationships between all members of our school are the foundation to supporting the success of all students. We welcome families from all over Australia and overseas and promote an inclusive environment in all things we do at school. We are deliberate with intention to promote a sense of pride and belonging in our community, across all cultural backgrounds. We promote the local indigenous culture through co-planning and teaching units of work with embedded Aboriginal and Torres Strait perspectives. Taking students on local 'Bush Walks' and the school's NAIDOC Celebrations are a highlight of the calendar year.

Cloncurry SS P-12 has three core values, Courtesy, Truth and Knowledge.  These values have been used in the development of a positive school culture, with the aim of helping shape and build the skills of all our students to be confident, self-disciplined and kind young people. Our school community has identified the following school rules to teach and promote our high standards of responsible behaviour:

·       Be a learner;

·       Be safe;

·       Be responsible; and

·       Be respectful.

Our school rules have been agreed upon and endorsed by all staff and our school P&CParents are an integral part of the educational program offered at Cloncurry State School P–12 and we highly value the role parents need to play in the education of their child. Our school staff believe that communication and positive connections with other people are the most valuable skills our communities need now and in the future.

The school's curriculum is written to National Curriculum standards and approved by the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority. Subjects are taught by qualified teachers in the specialist areas of Digital Technologies, Industrial Design and Technology, Hospitality, Food and Nutrition, Business, Health and Physical Education, Chinese and Music. The school is a member of the Mid-West District Sports Association and many young athletes are selected to compete at a State Carnival level.

Cloncurry State School P-12 has a track record of 100% of Year 12 students attaining a QCE, ATAR, or VET qualification on their completion of school. Cloncurry State School P-12 has strong partnerships between school and community – such as Red Door, Qi Nitec, Skills Generation, TAFE and Distance Education to provide your child with quality vocational and authentic learning opportunities for all students.

Your child is so very important. We look forward to working in partnership with you to encourage and support your child to grow as an individual. Please browse our website. If you require more information, please phone our main office or visit our campus and meet our friendly, helpful staff.

Yours in Education
